The Yaburara Heritage Trail is a hiking trail that stretches over the hills next to Karratha offer hikers plenty of length and difficulty options. They are restricted to walking only to preserve the natural habitat of the Karratha red dirt.

You can reach these trails by parking at the Sport Leisureplex or next to the Karratha visitors center. You can get yourself a full trail map from the visitor center or at the base of the trails. Here are more hikes in the area.

These tracks are dog friendly however it is recommended to keep the dogs on a leash. Check out these other dog friendly areas.

Snakes enjoy basking on the warm rocks and have occasionally been spotted on the trail. During the summer months, the hike can be quite hot and overwhelming. Be careful with your dog’s paws on the hot stones. Wildflowers bloom in the fall and winter months, providing a fantastic backdrop to jogs up the hill. If you want to check out the Western Australia wilflower season, the blooms are beautiful here. The views of the city from the lookout are spectacular during sunrise and sunset.
