Back Beach in Karratha is the closest beach for locals and tourists alike to enjoy the sunset, fish, swim, and put their boat in at high tide. Warning : Due to large tidal movements, it is impossible to take your boat in or out of the water at low tide.

The beach near the boat ramp has several shaded structures, extensive bins for fish offcuts, four-wheel-drive tracks, mangroves, and sandy stretches. At low tide, locals flock to the beach to collect mud crabs and walk out onto the mud flats. It is a good idea to bring bug repellent due to the mosquitos hiding in the mangroves.

This beach is accessible by car and four-wheel drives alike. Four-wheel drive vehicles can follow extensive beach tracks to find a secluded spot to envoy the beach. Please be mindful and take your trash with you to keep Karratha beautiful.
