Ngurin Bush Tucker Trail
The Ngurin Bush Tucker Trail is a 2 km self-guided walk around the Harding River (Ngurin), in Roebourne. It uses some of the existing tracks and the old De Gray Street bridge to cross the Harding River. You can find it by starting at the Jubilee Park in Roeburne or grabbing yourself a map from the Karratha visitor center or here. Consequently, the best time to walk this beautiful trail is in the winter from May to September. In addition, the cooler weather provides a more comfortable stroll along with stunning flowering endemic plants.
The Ngurin Bush Tucker Trail is a close collaboration with the Ngarluma people, the traditional owners of the land. There are signs with valuable information and learnings from Ngarluma Elders David Walker, Violet Samson, and Pansy Hicks. As a result, you can learn about bush tucker, bush medicines, and other artifacts used by Aboriginal people in their traditional way of life.
