Dampier Foreshore
The Dampier Foreshore is a short 20-minute drive from Karratha along the Dampier Highway. A new playground was recently built on the Southern end of the foreshore. Plenty of parking is available near the Hampton Oval. This is a popular picnic spot with shady palm trees providing a cool atmosphere. There are also facilities including a shower, freshly cooled water, and bathrooms.
The beach stretches out further south towards the Marina, and is a great spot for swimming at high tide. People also bring their dogs to the beach or a picnic blanket to watch the sunset. Four-wheel driving is possible on the beach, however, no camping is permitted. There are several restrauants within walking distance. There are also car access to the beach spots to kayak from or more.
This spot in Dampier is popular for it’s stunning views of the sunset and a quick dip in the water. The area is also close to several bars, and restaurants.
