Bayton Trails

per person

The unmarked trails behind the suburb of Bayton stretch towards north coast highway over an area of sparse red bushland. The ample paths and off-road tracks are a popular destination for mountain bikers, runners, bushwalkers, and four-wheel drivers alike. The harsh terrain and small hills provide ample challenges to improve your dirt biking skills and explore the local Pilbara flora and fauna. The trails stretch in Crisscross directions over the red dirt. They can be navigated through google maps and are worth exploring in the afternoon and early morning hours of the day. These paths are a great place to walk your dogs, however, make sure to keep them on the leash to protect native wildlife or other dogs enjoying their strolls.

Best Time to walk the Bayton Trails

During wintertime, the bushland is flowering with abundant Western Australian wildflowers. Mulla mulla, desert peas, are all common sights in this area. After the rainy season, small creeks can also be found and an occasional wallaby or kangaroo can be spotted hopping over the red dirt.

Please be Respectful in the Area

Please be mindful that there are no facilities in this stretch of bushland so please bring ample water with you and leave behind no rubbish. There are also chances of venomous snakes appearing on the paths so make urge you have protective foot ware and take care where you tread. To preserve the natural beauty of this area and your safety, please stick to existing paths with your vehicles or feet.
