Deep Reach Pool
Deep Reach Pool is the largest permanent body of fresh water in the Karratha region. It is maintained by the aquifer beneath the park and is the home to the Warlu serpent of the Yinjibarndi people. It is located within the Millstream Chichester National park where there are plenty of camping spots and other beautiful fresh water holes.
Deep reach is a 300m return walk from the car park to the barbecue area, swimming, and canoe launch. There are trailside signs filled with information and plenty of shade offered by the tall canopy trees. Deep Reach Pool is a great spot to refresh in the red earth country.
There is disabled access to toilets, gas BBQs, shaded picnic tables, ramps, and walkways. There is access to the river for swimming and canoeing. The body of water is large and deep so make sure to be careful with your children. There are camp spots in the nearby area where you can stay the night before coming over to Deep Reach pool to relax in the day.
Since Deep Reach is located in the Millstream Chichester National park so no pets are allowed. There are some facilities, but please remember to be respectful and mindful in the Pilbara.
